The Lubbock Police Department have made an arrest in connection to a shooting that occurred on Friday, November 5th, in Central Lubbock.

Officers were called to the Lubbock Square Apartments, located in the 4600 block of 50th Street at 4:53 p.m. for reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, 27 year-old Christopher Guerra was found with a gunshot wound. Guerra was taken to University Medical Center where he later died.

An investigation revealed that a verbal argument between Guerra and 20 year-old Ryan Menegay happened prior to the shooting.

A warrant was issued Friday evening for Menegay's arrest and he was taken into custody Saturday around 11 a.m. without incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
