All the way from Copenhagen, Denmark, the boys of Volbeat lit up the Hub City at Tuesday night's FMX Freakfest.

Volbeat's unique blend of rockabilly, rock and metal has earned them a hardcore following here in the states, including one guy we met at the show who told us their performance at FMX Freakfest marks his 67th (!) time seeing the band live.

Lead singer Michael Poulsen led the band through "Lola Montez," "Still Counting" and a brief cover of Johnny Cash. Poulsen admitted that Cash's music was a major inspiration for the band.

After such a stellar performance, the Lubbock crowd definitely didn't want the boys from Copenhagen to leave. But it's safe to say that thanks to the warm welcome the Freakfest crowd gave them, Volbeat considers Lubbock a home away from home.
