Granbury, Texas Volunteer Firefighters Heroically Rescue 2-Year-Old From Burning Apartment Building
Granbury volunteer firefighters heroically pulled a 2-year-old boy from an apartment fire early Sunday morning. The fire was reported around 12:50 am and the toddler was trapped in the second-floor bedroom.
The entire ordeal was caught on camera. It's truly a testament to the sacrifice firefighters make to help keep us safe. What's more, is that these are volunteer firefighters. They aren't even collecting a fireman's salary. Plain and simple: Heroes.
I lived in a small town with a volunteer fire department, and I remember how seriously the volunteers took their jobs. My friend's husband was one. I'd be at their house for dinner and I'd hear him get a call on his dispatch radio and he'd be gone in a flash. The closeness and love between neighbors in small communities has to be the most endearing quality of living in one. Everyone looks out for one another like they are family.

Thank you to the men and women who put themselves in dangerous situations to keep the rest of us out of them. You guys are what the world needs more of, and I hope you know how much you mean to the rest of us.
And, while I'm at it, Happy Veteran's Day to all of the vets out there! I can't go without mentioning those heroes on their special day! You guys are the best.
