Tuesday marked the second day of school for Texas Tech students, and new football head coach Matt Wells is doing his absolute damn best to get students to come and rock the Jones.

The first year head coach for Texas Tech decided to drop by and pay for students lunches with the condition that they would show up and support the team on Saturday against Montana State.

Wells has preached about wanting students to show up and he would give anything to have a loud and enthusiastic student section on Saturdays. This is how you show fans and students alike that it's not just a bunch of smoke.

Kickoff for Texas Tech's season opener against Montana State is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31st. You can listen to Talk 1340's Countdown to Kickoff show from 12:00-2:00 p.m. to get the inside scoop on the Big 12 landscape and the Red Raiders.
