What’s In A Name?
By now you all have figured out it is not uncommon for people in my profession to use their real names given to them by their parents. There are reasons people choose to use alas' rather than their birth names when they go into any sort of profession where their names are either written or spoken frequently.
Every parent has played the name game prior to the birth of their little bundle of poo, I mean joy. Some families go with "family names," others go with the trendy names of the time, then there are people that go with totally weird names.... Seriously bro, you named your kid Apple?
Whatever reason parents have for naming their kid something, in the end it is the kid that has to live with and possible deal with teasing and remarks about their name for the rest of their life; or until they are old enough to change it legally, on their own.
Keeping in mind the issues that seem to be running rampant with bulling it might be a good idea for parents to start giving a little more thought to what they name their kid (Badger, are you listening to me, no naming kids after your high school mascot). That being said I do think naming a kid should be left up to the family, regardless of how stupid the name is however; the government in New Zealand has a different opinion on this than I do.
It seems it is now illegal in New Zeland to name your kid Lucifer, this decision was made after 3 couples attempted to name their little bundles of joy after Satan himself.
