Ever in the middle of a perfectly normal day, and then something so unbelievably stupid happens that you briefly consider stripping down naked and running away to live in the woods?

Just me?...

Like, maybe your belt loop gets caught on the doorknob and pulls you back into the house when you're already running late. Or, you drop your keys 16 times while carrying 41 grocery bags.

Maybe your fitted sheet popped off the mattress corner for the 4th time already today...

Suddenly, you're staring at yourself in the bathroom mirror, questioning every decision that led you to today.

Just a word of advice...

Sometimes, it's not about the fitted sheet.

Not at all.

It's about the stress, the bills, the family drama, the responsibilities, the work meetings, and about 900 thousand other things you've been holding together with pure spite and a little caffeine.

That tiny inconvenience? That was just the final boss.

The straw that broke the camel's back.

The reason you are going to have to replace yet another cell phone...

Here's something important to remember, Lubbock:

Everybody is dealing with something. Everybody.

The cashier who seems a little distracted? She's exhausted. She was up all night with her baby, and her crazy ex-boyfriend won't stop sending her harassing text messages. She's really going through it. Give her some grace.

The stranger who looks like they are on the brink of tears in the frozen food aisle? Maybe the squeaky wheel on their grocery cart is the final straw. That person could be one minor inconvenience away from becoming a local news story.

You never know what someone is going through.

Facebook is a lie.

It's all smiles and happiness.

Real life is much more difficult.

So, just be nice. Hold the door for strangers. Tell people thank you. Don't go out of your way to make someone else's day worse because yours isn't going well.

Be kind, guys.

Everyone in Lubbock is fighting a fitted sheet battle of their own.
