New Metallica In 2014…Maybe?

Kevin Winter/Getty Images

Recently, Kirk Hammett talked about the longevity of Metallica and if and when there would be another album in the works for the legendary thrashers.

Tons of rumors have piled up over the past five years about new music from the Bay Area band, but don’t expect anything too soon.

Hammett claims that a new album will “hopefully” be done and ready for 2014, but basically, the band is pretty content with just playing live gigs.

Rumor has it that James Hetfield has over 700 new riffs in his arsenal, which translates to the possibility of the other three band members having a myriad of brand new ideas as well.

Time will tell, we’ll keep you updated.
