Machinehead Rocks “Darkeness Within” [VIDEO]
I don't like stuff just because it's mainstream or just because it fits certain specifications. To me, a good song is a good song. I think the latest from Machinehead is a good song. More after the jump.

Dream Theater frontman James LaBrie just announced via his official Facebook page that he is beginning to write for his next solo album. LaBrie’s longtime writing partner Matt Guillory will once again lend his talents for the Dream Theater vocalist’s third solo album.
Did you hear that? If you heard it, you might not have been sure about what you heard. Yes, if you were up very early Tuesday morning you may have heard a wonderful new jingle (inspired by James Hetfield's vacation spot).
Metallica may have held four anniversary shows in San Francisco specifically for fan club members earlier this month, but the Four Horsemen are certainly doing their part to engage non fan club members by sharing bits and pieces of the shows. That way, the rest of their massive global fan base can feel a part of the fun. The band has now shared 30 minutes of video footage from the Dec. 9 show, the third of the the four gigs..
You wouldn’t necessarily know it from listening to songs like ‘The Insidious Soliloquy of Skulhed Face’ or ‘The Master Has a Butt,’ but the members of GWAR are apparently huge film buffs. Well, okay, maybe that’s a bit of a stretch — but that didn’t keep lead singer Oderus Urungus and rhythm guitarist Balsac the Jaws of Death from reviewing Steven Spielberg’s ‘War Horse’ recently.
UFO is often cited as one of Metallica's main influences. It's amazing to me that of all the bands the Might Met's covered, they haven't got around to UFO (that I know of). They are also cited as a major influence by Megadeth and Iron Maiden. UFO still exists in some shape or form, but the band peaked in the U.S. around '77-'79. This is shaping up to be a big year for Megadeth fans -- not only do they have an expanded edition of the band's landmark release 'Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?' to look forward to, but there's also a brand new studio album on the horizon.
During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, band founder Dave Mustaine discussed the new record, titled 'Th1rt3en.' It's the band's 13th studio album, but the name means more than that, according to Mustaine. He said, "I was born on September 13th; this is my 13th record. It just seemed like it was the right thing to do."
Dear Metalheads,
Let's start with this statement; KFMX is not a 'metal' station and we have no plans to be one in the immediate future. Don't cry, there are no 'metal' stations ANYWHERE in the U.S., only online. We're not picking on you, it's you that keeps it from happening. Read more after the break.
If you've been watch the trend of metal logos, well good luck to you. Glad you have the free time. More after the break.
