I thought I'd take a minute to look at some of the other great big shows happening around the area.  Wait, there are none.  No one is heading to Amarillo for their rock stations party.  Midland-Odessa gets a few good shows, but not really festivals.  Abilene turns out great for small club shows, and the only thing Wichita Falls has on their concert calendar is REO Speedwagon.

If you want to bring up the past with Scott Weiland, he has been very lucky to not only be alive but front two very influential rock bands. Now we give ol' Scotty the credit, with Stone Temple Pilots and he fronted Velvet Revolver and was removed from both bands. So of course his response was to kick off a solo tour.

Stone Temple Pilots have sent out a message that they have official fired Scott Weiland from the band.  Holy moley, are we really going to go through this again.  STP was pretty much my favorite band from the grunge era and they taking an already troubled history and putting it in the dumper.  More after the jump.

To say that guitarist Slash doesn't care much for former front man Scott Weiland would be an understatement. Even after being fired from Velvet Revolver back in 2008, Weiland  continues to insist that there are plans for his return.

Scott Weiland joined Velvet Revolver on stage for a performance last night "Love You Madly: A Concert For John O'Brien" at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, Ca.

Yes it's true, Scott Weiland has a Christmas album out just for the holiday season. And just as Corey Taylor has stated he is just being lazy, in so many words.

Corey Taylor calls Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver out saying "He's A Lazy Piece Of  SH**."  I totally agree with him.
