Hostess is closing.  The baker of such iconic products as "Twinkies" and "Ding Dongs" is closing after claims of being 'crippled' by striking workers.   They are as much a victim of healthier eating habits and locally baked fresh products as much as anything else. More after the jump.

Back in the day if you wanted to get fat, all you had to do was look for "Hostess".  With a product line of nothing but processed sugar, flour and chemicals, I'm not shedding a tear for this company.  While some of you have a fondness for the snacks, they are purely the thing health nightmares are made of. They are gutbombs stoner-food and edible heart-attacks.  Now, this is of course my opinion, but I'm so far from a health nut and still I recognize these as being some of the worst things you can put into your body.

Along with Twinkies and Ding-Dongs,  Hostess made "Ring-Dings", "Zingers" "Ho-Ho's", "Suzy O's", "Yodels" and the thoroughly nasty "Sno Balls".

Hostess has said it will sell it's iconic brands off.  Now if you're worried that you're going to miss any of these treats, don't worry, Little Debbie is still around and has an even bigger variety of crazy cake and creme concoctions for you.

I hope the employees of Hostess find greener pastures with fair working conditions.
