Adopt a Friend to Spend Your Social Distancing Time With

Right now is an excellent time to train a new best friend.

If you're spending time at home, maybe you now have time to work on a new pupper. It's the perfect time to crate train a dog or get it into a routine for when things normalize.

I can't stress enough that a new pet is a commitment, but right now you could complete some training that could ease that transition. I also have to say that you're not getting a rental; you're promising an animal a forever home, so think it through.

I hate to say it, but if we lose people in the Coronavirus pandemic, there are going to be pets that need new homes. If you can help transition pets out of the shelters and rescues, then these other pets may have a place to go.

Talk it over with the fam. Now might be the right time to adopt.
