I'm going to have to go into some personal history with this one.

Until the age of 16 or 17 I lived in sunny Southern California. That area is what I would call somewhat adjacent to the show business areas of the state. It wasn't that big of a deal to see prop cars from the movies, or even celebrities next to you on the freeway. None of that really mattered to us. As little kids, the thing that got us all wound up was a sighting of the Oscar-Meyer Weinermobole.

Back in the day, the Weinermobile was a constant presence on the California freeways, after all, that's where all of the people were. There was always something special about taking a mundane trip to grandma's house, and a giant wiener pulling up next to you. It's impressive stuff for sure.

I still never got close enough to the Wienermobile to touch it until last year. It was pretty special to me. I have to say the inside was really cool too, even if it was kind of a "built back in the day kind of vibe".

You can find the Wienermobile hitting up the various United Market Streets in town. Today from 10:30 to 1:00,  they'll be at the one on 98th, then from two to five at the 11310 Slide Road location. On Sunday they hit up the Market Street on 19th from 10:30 to about 1:00, then finally the 4th Street location from about 2:00-5:00.

Here's a hot tip for you, yes, they do usually have the famous Wienerwhistles. I managed to score one of the incredibly rare clear ones last time (it's worth millions...at least to my little boy brain). Happy Wienering this weekend!
