Summer Road Trips Promise Great Music And Fun In New Mexico
Are you ready to rock this summer? Then a road trip might be just what you need.
There are super-secret things happening at the Lone Star Amphitheater in Lubbock. That's why the recent vandalism stings a bit. Resources that could have been put into this new project are now going to have to be shifted over to repairs. I guess such is life until we get these vandals under control.
So how about a trip to the Isleta Amphitheater in New Mexico? It's now known as the First Financial Credit Union Amphitheater, but that's just semantics. The venue was built in 2000 and has been a destination for shows ever since. I have caught a few shows there myself, and it's a fun place to be.
Albuquerque Has A Pretty Impressive Concert Calendar
So what's on the menu for the summer? How about this lineup:
7.14 – Evanescence with Spiritbox & Nova Twins
7.28 – Motionless In White with Lorna Shore, Fit For A King & Static Dress
8.5 – Simple Plan with 3OH!3 & Bowling For Soup
8.10 – Toto + Christopher Cross + The Romantics
9.7 – Godsmack
9.13 – Mötley Crüe with Tesla & Extreme
9.25 – Five Finger Death Punch with Eva Under Fire
9.27 – Billy Idol
9.28 – Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
9.29 – Baby Metal with Halestorm & Violent Vira
That's just the shows you rockers might like. If we're to explore their booking beyond September there's also:
10.3 – Mumford & Sons: Prizefighter Tour
10.7 – Breaking Benjamin with Chevelle, Starset & Kami Kehoe
10.14 – Staind with Seether, Hoobastank & Hinder
So what are you actually looking at here in terms of travel? Google Maps puts the travel time at a little over five hours. That seems pretty doable for a band you love.
Sometimes A Road Trip Beats The Big City
So why even mention this venue when we have the Dos Equis Pavilion an equal distance away? The answer would be that the Metroplex in general is a bit much for some people. A drive to the often cooler confines of New Mexico just seems to be a bit more chill.
