The holidays can be rough on everyone, especially retail workers. I wanted to take a second to thank you guys for everything you do. It's not easy to put up with entitled customers, products on backorder, restocking your shelves over and over during your shift, and doing it all with a smile on your face.

I see you, and I know you've been working long hours that will only get longer leading up to Christmas. You'll probably spend more time dealing with customers than holding your kids and watching your favorite holiday movies by the fire. Some of you might even be pulling doubles, or working 20 days straight without a break just to give your family some nice gifts.

Without you guys, everyone in Lubbock would be really screwed during the holiday season. You are so important, and if nobody told you today how appreciated you are, then here you go: You are SO appreciated!

I want to apologize to you for all of the people that treat you with disrespect and also remind you to remember that when someone is rude to you, 9 times out of 10, it doesn't really have anything to do with you. It has something to do with them. Some people don't know how to release their stress and anger in a healthy way, and they end up taking it out on retail workers.

Hang in there, guys!

Thank you for getting up each day and putting on a smile for your employer and your customers. You make a huge difference in our community and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you are able to take a breather and kick back with your loved ones.

And to everyone that is working on Turkey Day, thank you so very much for keeping the ball rolling. You guys are the real MVPs and we love you!
