An Open Letter To Anyone Who Loves Lubbock, Texas No Matter What

Several divisive, hot-button subjects have been popping up across local Facebook posts over the past few days, and it can be disheartening to watch your friends and family argue with one another. It's clear not everyone in town agrees on everything, and that's okay. We don't always have to see eye to eye. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, something that makes not only Lubbock, Texas great, but also Texas and the rest of the United States, for that matter. Sometimes we take our freedoms for granted.

I wanted to take a second to remind everyone how wonderful this city truly is. It's been good to me, and it's probably been good to you too, for the most part. If it hadn't, you wouldn't be here. There are several things we can be grateful for at the end of a busy day in the 806, and many reasons to hang your hat in Lubbock, Texas.

At the end of the day, we are all in this together. I invite you to embrace our differences, love your neighbors, and remember we only get one shot at this whole life thing. Let's make the best of it by listening to one another with an open heart and loving each other, even when we disagree.

YOU are the reason this place is great. Never forget that. Don't let trolls on the internet talk you into hating this place, and don't give the squeaky wheels so much oil. Step back and smile because, at the end of the day, we have it all. Let's work together to make Lubbock a place we can ALL be proud of.
