Several divisive, hot-button subjects have been popping up across local Facebook posts over the past few days, and it can be disheartening to watch your friends and family argue with one another. It's clear not everyone in town agrees on everything, and that's okay. We don't always have to see eye to eye. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, something that makes not only Lubbock, Texas great, but also Texas and the rest of the United States, for that matter. Sometimes we take our freedoms for granted.

I wanted to take a second to remind everyone how wonderful this city truly is. It's been good to me, and it's probably been good to you too, for the most part. If it hadn't, you wouldn't be here.
