I'm very proud of the kids who are stepping up. You should be proud of them too. Maybe you can use some of the following to encourage them.
Hey Kids!
The first day of school has come and gone. It's always tough to be in school because sometimes you worry about whether people like your school clothes or the way your hair is cut. Just remember it's okay to be different. Remember that it's okay that you're wearing a mask too.
Your parents have made a decision on what's best for your health and the health of your family. They may even know things that they haven't told you or even decided that you're not ready to hear yet. The important thing is, your parents love you enough that they think this is best for you.
You are not being punished and your parents certainly didn't make this choice easily. In fact, I'm willing to bet your parents are a little upset that you have to go through part of your school year like this. The truth is that you are treasured and it hurts your parents very much to see you sick so they are doing what's necessary to keep you healthy.
No one should make fun of you because of the shoes you wear or the way your hair is cut and no one should make fun of you because you wear a mask. I hope you understand when I say you should "own it" and rock that mask proudly. This means that you should be proud that you listen to what your parents and the doctors say.
Above all else, remember that mask means that you are loved and cared for. It also means that you care too.
