Somewhere over 480 stops were made during the first day of stepped-up traffic enforcement.

Let me say that I've developed a lead-foot. It's just too easy to go too fast with these wide-open spaces. With some of these spaces being restricted during construction, there's never been a better time for all of us to slow down.

It sucks that some people have to be pulled over and ticketed in order to learn their lesson, but that's how it is.  I can tell you from getting out Sunday that not enough people have taken note. I'm still seeing speeders, swervers and other jack-assery out there.

I hope this increased law enforcement continues because the drivers around here need some lessons on how to drive. Fortunately, slowing down is a great way to compensate for a lack of skill or knowledge.
