Be On the Lookout: Porch Pirates Strike Again in Lubbock

A recent post on Facebook shows a male on a bicycle snatching something from a mailbox at a home in central Lubbock.

This year, Texas lawmakers enacted a law making the act of stealing packages and other mail from people's doorsteps and mailboxes a felony. The new law doesn't seem to be deterring this sort of behavior here in the Hub City, however.

In another post made to the Operation Crime Watch Lubbock Facebook group, two people can be seen pulling around a large garbage can on a dolly and pitching packages into the can.

It's time to be vigilant, and if you see something, say something. People who aren't up to no good will be OK with a peace officer stopping them if they are reported.

On the other hand, if you report suspicious activity, you might help nab these porch pirates and prevent others from being robbed.
