Has Halloween Become Too Expensive In Lubbock? Here’s What It Really Costs
Do you think you've been priced out of Halloween? Well, the actual ticket prices around Lubbock say otherwise.
It seems like everything costs more these days, and taking the family out for a night of fun can put a pretty good dent in your wallet. Fortunately, there are still some Halloween attractions and events around Lubbock that won't require you to take out a second mortgage.
From Free To $35: What Halloween Fun Costs In Lubbock
Let's start with At'l Do Farms Corn Maze, since it's probably the most family-friendly attraction on this list. Tuesday through Thursday admission is just $10, whether you buy online or at the gate. Sweet! That's a bargain if you can get everybody out on a school night. Friday through Sunday, tickets are $13 online or $15 at the gate. Kids four and under get in free, too.
Another option is October Nights, located at 8600 Ash Avenue inside Ash Business Park. This newer haunted attraction offers a spooky experience for just $10. It's a nice, inexpensive way to get a few chills without spending a bunch of cash.
Then there's Nightmare On 19th Street, which has kept its basic admission prices essentially unchanged for 18 of its 20 years. Thursdays and Sundays are $20, Fridays are $25, and Saturdays, including Halloween, are $30. One ticket gets you into four separate haunted attractions. Compared to a lot of other ticketed entertainment in Lubbock, that's still a pretty reasonable night out.
If you'd rather spend Halloween doing the Time Warp, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is coming to Buddy Holly Hall on October 31st, with performances at 7:00 and 10:30 p.m. Tickets start around $35. Costumes are welcome, but outside props aren't allowed, so leave that toast at home. Besides, who wants to spend Halloween picking bread out of their underwear?
And if your budget is absolutely zero, there's something for you, too.
Haunted Hollow on Broadway is a free Halloween parade beginning at 10 a.m. on October 31st. Expect costumes, decorated floats, candy, and plenty of Halloween spirit without spending a dime on admission.
Of course, this is just a small sampling of what's available around Lubbock. Keep in mind that some events have additional charges for food, upgrades, special activities, and credit card fees. Those little extras can certainly add up, especially when you're paying for the entire family.
So what's the verdict?
I think Halloween entertainment in Lubbock is still a pretty good deal. You can spend absolutely nothing, have a little fun for ten bucks, or go all out for a bigger experience. Compared to concerts, sporting events, and plenty of other nights out, these prices aren't bad at all.

Maybe Halloween hasn't become too expensive. Maybe we've just become so accustomed to everything else costing a fortune that we've forgotten what a reasonably priced night of entertainment looks like.
