I’ve tasted almost every flavor from Blue Bell, but this one might be the most surprising. The secret is out — Blue Bell is bringing back an incredible holiday flavor that, once it hits your lips, instantly infuses you with Christmas spirit.

The flavor is called simply Peppermint. Now, I’m no skeptic of the creameries in Brenham, Texas, but that name feels underwhelming for what’s hiding under the gold lid. It should be something like “Peppermint Crunch,” “Peppermint Surprise” or “North Pole Special.” Just “Peppermint” sounds too dull.

What’s Inside the New Blue Bell Carton

If you’ve never tried it and I mention “Peppermint,” you might think you know exactly what to expect — maybe plain mint ice cream with a few specks of candy. But this is so much more. Blue Bell describes it as “peppermint ice cream with peppermint candy pieces.”

The reality: the peppermint pieces are manufactured to deliver a real crunch alongside the soft, creamy base—this is a 1 + 1 → 10 kind of scenario. The smooth peppermint-base glides, then the candy pieces punch through, elevating every spoonful.

A big bowl of this will make your holidays special on its own, but when you pair it with a slice of cake or a glass of Kahlúa (or your favorite spiked dessert drink), it takes things to a whole new level.

Two Holiday Favorites Return to Blue Bell’s Freezers

One final note: My rave above is just for the Peppermint flavor. There’s also the returning “Peppermint Bark” variant — described as “a smooth mint ice cream loaded with luscious dark-chocolate flavored chunks and tasty peppermint bark pieces.”

You can experience peppermint paradise now — Blue Bell’s Peppermint ice cream is back in stores for a limited time/
