History

I don't know why, but I was thinking, "Will Buddy Holly Hall ever match the legend of the Lubbock Auditorium?" . I was thinking of this because I will always look fondly back on the days of bands like Judas Priest and The B 52's at the Auditorium, but BHH has shown it's willingness to stretch boundaries with shows like Alice Cooper. Add to that fact that they've also had bigger and better Broadway shows and quite a number of big name comedians.

The latest comedian to drop by is Felipe Esparza. If you're not familiar with the name, then clear you calendar because you're about to get lost down a YouTube rabbit hole of amazing observations. Felipe is absolutely top of the game. I feel like I should mention that while Felipe is Hispanic, his humor and performance are really more about experiences that we can all relate to. I supposed I should mention that his humor is very adult oriented and he occasionally uses explicit language.

Get To Know Felipe

I had the good fortune to interview Felipe recently for our Odessa radio station and he's a pretty amazing guy. Being a comedy nut, I asked him about his process and one of the things he does is just astounding. Felipe says that he listens or watches back every performance TWICE in order to keep improving his act. That's a huge time commitment and a huge commitment to the audience.

Felipe has had comedy specials on HBO/Max, Showtime, and Netflix. You've seen him numerous times in movies and on TV He's a pretty recognizable guy even if you can't always come up with his name.
