Check Out This Awesome Collection of Lubbock Concert Tickets

A listener posted this cool collection of concert tickets and I just couldn't pass it up.

Let's just say that Mr. Carrillo ROCKS HARD.

There was a time when we shared a lot of concert dates with Amarillo and Midland-Odessa. It was always a crapshoot as to which of the three places the bands would play. Ultimately, Lubbock and 94.5 FMX would win out, but these collected tickets represent that earlier time.

Among the tickets, you'll spot one of my favorite FMX Birthday Bash's starring Ugly Kid Joe. That was the first time I actually saw the destruction a large crowd could bring. That show was so unhinged that when the crowd surged forward the cattleguards busted.

If you look for a blue ticket towards the upper right you'll see the Motley Crue show that happened at Fair Park Coliseum. Just try getting that close to Motley Crue these days. The thing I remember most about that show is that the girls went wild. Yes, I'm talking flashing contests before and during the show.

Four down from the left was one of the first shows I saw at the Lubbock Civic Center. I didn't think shows there were that great of an idea at the time. I guess I should mention it was a killer Billy Idol show. Earlier that day, FMX had a Billy Idol look-a-like contest and one lucky winner got to meet the man.

Fourth down center is a show I missed because I was off to Austin for radio adventures. I really wish I could have seen Billy Squire in his prime. Third down from the left is one of the many epic Iron Maiden shows we were able to host.
