Cold Front Heading To Lubbock Bringing Freezing Temperatures
Well, Fall was fun. Now it's time to break out the heavy coats as a cold front is fast approaching and it's going to make an impact on Lubbock and the South Plains Friday and Saturday morning.
While Thursday is expected to be a beautiful day with highs around 72 degrees and sunny skies, Friday is a whole new day. Friday's high according to KAMC will be in the mid 40's at about 45 degrees. That night the temperatures are supposed to dip into the mid 20's.
For many on the South Plains it will the first freeze of the season with lows anywhere from 20-25 degrees Saturday morning. According to the National Weather Service, you will want to bring plants inside, pets inside, and cover any exposed pipes.
The good news is that temperatures will rise into the low 50's on Saturday and upper 50's on Sunday. According to KAMC, high temperatures at the beginning of next week will be in the upper 40's but as always, that could change between now and then.
