One of the greatest shows to ever come to Lubbock is happening this weekend, and this is what you need to know before you step outside, starting Friday night.

First Friday Art Trail will be pleasant with temperatures still in the upper 60s and slightly breezy southerly wind. I recommend long sleeves or a sweater, because once the sun goes down, temperatures will quickly fall back into the 50s by 10 p.m.

Overnight, a weak cold front will sneak into the South Plains and keep tomorrow's high temperatures in the mid 50s. So if you are a warm weather lover like me, grab a sweater or light jacket on your way outside tomorrow morning.

Cloud cover will make tomorrow feel much cooler. If you get out early enough you may encounter areas of fog/drizzles, so make sure to give yourself some time to get to where you're going in the morning.

A stronger cold front will be making a push through the area on Saturday night, and some of the coldest air of the year will be arriving which will make it very unpleasant for concertgoers as they leave the United Supermarkets Arena. The potential also exists that some light precipitation in the form of freezing drizzle or freezing fog will develop through the overnight hours into Sunday morning.

Conditions for driving Saturday night and Sunday morning may become hazardous at times, so I'm recommending that anyone attending the Metallica concert and those with after-concert plans have a ride sharing option available -- or at least a designated driver to help prevent making what could be the best night of your life turn into the worst morning ever.

Have fun. Be safe. Be ready to bundle up...and ROCK ON!!
