Could The 42nd Annual FMX Birthday Bash Be Back On For August?

I had already written off this year.

We had a situation where we had a band pretty much locked in. We liked the bill so much that we didn't even discuss anyone else. Then, that band ended up opting to do some other event. Too bad. So sad. No FMX Birthday Bash for us.

Then yesterday I got a call about some saviors. Some nice mid-level (that's not an insult, I just don't want to get accused of hyping this up too much) bands that when taken as a whole, represent a fantastic, truly special evening out.

Amazingly, we are still looking at August for this celebration, and we've already started discussing making this celebration special for you rockers. We have had a very "dry" 2023 and while there is plenty of year left for things to change, usually things start lining up around now.

So this is where we're at, avails for the date have been opened and an offer is on the way for the bands. I know this isn't much to go on, but it offers a little glimmer of hope in what has been a somewhat grim year.

I can tell you this, we could run into a situation where we have some shows close to each other, so start your rock training now so you'll be in shape to catch as many as you can. In Lubbock, shows are feast or famine and we hope we're setting the table for a feast.

I know all of this is very premature. I very well may be printing these words out and eating them later. I just feel like everyone can use a little hope. I think, if the bill I was presented with stays the same, there will be a little something for everyone.

So one last time, cross your fingers and send good vibes. Also, don't get too concerned if you don't hear anything immediately, August is a long way away and the bands may have restrictions on when these things can be announced.
