Why An Update?

It occurred to me that it's been a hot minute since we've giving you an overarching view of FMX. We have been doing this so long that we make some assumptions that we probably shouldn't. It's also very true that we think of FMX listeners as our friends and that we'll just bump into each other or you'll call or visit the website if you need info.

Something Big Happening Now!

Today we kicked off the new round of MoneyTalks. This now has a $1000 prize every weekday and the last two Thursdays during the contest will be $10,000 Thursdays. All you have to do it grab up a code between 8:05a-5:05p and enter it before midnight. More codes=more chances. It's free, it's fun, and we're ready for you to cash a big check.

Concerts

We have a couple of great shows on the way. First there's Staind/Breaking Benjamin/Wage War/Lakeview over at United Supermarket Arena. Then there's Everclear/Local H/Sponge at Buddy Holly Hall. For a hot minute we had an FMX Birthday Bash lined up, but for some reason the band has decided to at least temporarily limit their touring (Hint: They played the Firecracker 5).

New Music

The new music is on fire right now. Linkin Park, Sleep Token, Papa Roach, Shinedown, Evanescence, Volbeat, Ghost, Disturbed, Chevelle, and more have new music out. I'm also very partial to the new track from Hardy and can't get enough of the new Killswitch Engage. Also keep in mind he first full weekend of every month we celebrate new music and it's our "in-house" favorite. We just throw a bunch of new releases in on top of the other new music and it's very refreshing and fun.

The RockShow

The RockShow continues to be the number one morning show and we're pretty darn proud of it. Along with your favorite features we're dropping in "Am I An Assh*le" and "Unfun Facts". We are also set to launch a new bit called "#Blessed" with comedian JJ Howell that we think is pretty funny. Remember, join the RockShow RoadCrew to answer questions in advance if you'd like. One more thing, What's In The Box is scheduled to return on Wednesday with Staind/Breaking Benjamin Tickets.

Your Workday

Renee Raven continues to be the dominant workday personality in Lubbock. She has two excellent features. We made and attempt to not repeat any artists on 3Fer Madness at 10:35 since the first of the year. It's almost time to start over, but I'd say 4 solid months, 7 Days a week with no repeats is pretty dang good. Of course she also has an hour of back to back rock for your lunch hour with the Free lunch. As for afternoons, Maggie gets you up to speed with everything going on and also has the legendary Traffic Jam at 4:50 to drive you home.

Loudwire has become a 100% destination for rock stars both new and old. I can't even list all of the people Chuck has had on, and has lined up. I do know he's pretty pumped up for a new Kirk Hammett interview.

I want to invite you strays back into the herd. Sometimes you get a little bored and/or distracted and just forget this wonderful music that brought us together and that we were raised with. We've had few concerts to get together at, so a little drifting is inevitable.
