Do You Recognize This Texas Woman? She’s in a Heap of Trouble…

GRAPEVINE, Texas - 18-year-old Ava Moore was enjoying a day of kayaking last Sunday on Grapevine Lake when she was tragically struck by a jet ski and killed. The woman who piloted the jet ski took off, fleeing the scene, and is now wanted in connection with the tragedy.

Here's what we know:

Moore was struck by the jet ski while kayaking. Witnesses pulled her from the water and said she was wearing a life jacket, which first responders removed to try and save her life. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.

The driver of the jet ski had a passenger in tow, who remained behind with rescue workers and police while the driver fled the scene with an unknown male, striking another vehicle as they sped away. The pair abandoned their vehicle near the Cobblestone Apartments located at Ruth Wall and Turner Road, according to the Grapevine Police Department.

Moore just finished her first year of Air Force Preparatory School in Colorado Springs. She was said to have been an incredible athlete in high school, leading the Lady Falcons basketball team at Timber Creek High School to victory time and time again.

Identifying The Jet Ski Driver

As mentioned above, the passenger on the jet ski that struck Ava stayed behind with police, so why didn't she identify the woman who was driving?

I've seen many people asking this same question. I can't attest to why she didn't identify her, but I know that sometimes when you're out on the lake, you make fast friends with other people around you. Perhaps she hopped on the jet ski with a random person and never caught their name. That's my best guess.
