Don’t Miss the Final Night of ‘King Lear’ at Lubbock’s CATS Playhouse
Children and Adults Theatrical Studio presents the final showing of William Shakespeare's King Lear Friday, April 30th, 2021, at 7:30 p.m. at CATS Playhouse at 2257 34th Street.
If you're looking for a fun and socially-distant night out, this would make for an excellent evening. CATS puts on a great show and they would love to end the final performance on the highest note possible and with a great crowd.
I grew up performing in shows with CATS Playhouse and they have always been an organization near and dear to my heart. It is likely that without my start in local plays and productions, I would have never become a stand-up comedian, which eventually landed me my job here at 94.5 FMX.
If you remember loving theater class as a kid but you haven't acted in a while, maybe you should. They are always looking for talent for new productions, adults and children alike. Learning lines and going to rehearsals was one of the best parts of my young adult life and I often want to go over and try out for productions there still, but I've got a little too much on my plate to squeeze them in these days.
Check them out, guys. You can buy tickets at the door. Refreshments are available for sale during intermission, and the theater is only seating at 50 percent capacity due to the pandemic. Make sure to ask them about upcoming events and auditions that might be of interest to you or someone you know that has a knack for acting.
