The secret is out, and it won't be long before the obvious question comes my way: "What in the hell are you doing?!" The short answer: I'm living my dream.

It was about this time 10 years ago when I got my first on-air radio gig. Sandwiched between two co-hosts that live on completely opposite sides of the political spectrum, I never had ambitions to work in broadcasting. But there I was, on a Lubbock AM radio station, talking all things gubment (that's government for you out-of-towners).

If you had asked me at that time what my dream job in radio was, my answer would have been a swift and emphatic, "Duh, working across the board from Wes Nessman on FMX's The RockShow!" Back then, I would have also acknowledged my loathing the sound of my own voice, so I accepted that my dream gig would never be a reality.

The thing is, dreams really do come true. Yes, I worked hard and been through the ringer, but it all started with a dream.

Flash forward: I went through becoming a weather forecaster, to a professional hospital patient (thank you, degenerative spine and new hip!), back to TV weather, all the while raising three kids. On Monday, February 18th, I started at 94.5 KFMX on the anniversary of the worst day of my life, which I'll share another day.

If you would have told me, even just a year ago, that I would be sharing The RockShow with Wes, I would have throat punched you for teasing me and playing with my feels. I guess the point of the story is, don't stop dreaming and reaching for the sky, because dreams really do come true in Texas.
