Lubbock is a city built on resilience. Wind, dust, unexpected ice storms, and apparently major public humiliation. We asked Lubbock radio listeners, "What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done in public?" and the responses came in hot, incredibly vulnerable, and occasionally involved the kind of bodily functions you don't want a witness to.

Let's get into this...

Several Lubbockites shared stories of pure chaos. One listener climbed a park tree to avoid paying $6 for pecans, only to have major difficulty getting back down. She limped to her car while children laughed in the background. Another admitted to ripping their karate pants during a high school demo. He simply kept going. Commitment is important around here.

Joyland made a strong showing, which is especially Lubbock. One person slipped while boarding a boat ride and landed in the water in front of a line of people. Another person ate way too much at their company picnic and proceeded to barf on the company president while riding the teacups. They even said "hosing off" was involved and that they may or may not have had to strip down to their undies.

Bathroom embarrassment was a big recurring theme. From smelling up a hospital restroom to backing up the toilet at a boba shop so badly that a stranger yelled, "OH GOD," Lubbock has seen some things that you just can't unsee. A handful of people learned better than to ever trust a fart in public again.

Some embarrassments were quieter than others, but even still, just as painful to sleep with at night. For example: waving at someone who wasn't waving at you, getting into the wrong car, clapping when everyone else is silent, and professing your undying love in front of your friends, and also right in front of the new boo. *insert foot into mouth*

The takeaway? Well, if you've ever slipped on ice, fallen UP the stairs, or tripped over something in public, you are certainly not alone in the 806. In Lubbock. Embarrassment isn't really a flaw;
