20-year-olds Leo Moore and Haley Barber have both been charged with capital murder for allegedly stabbing their roommate Johnny Mac Ross Jr to death. Ross's 2001 Mercedes was found missing and his body was discovered in his Garland condo wrapped in sheets and rugs.

Authorities speculate the pair continued to live in the condo with his corpse for several days until eventually stealing his 2001 Mercedes and fleeing the scene, only to be quickly apprehended.

Medical examiners are working to determine how long Ross was dead inside his condo before being found by authorities. Neighbors confirmed Moore and Barber had been living with Ross for several weeks before the incident, and that they'd heard some loud arguing coming from the condo. They also told authorities there was a terrible smell coming from his home that seemed to worsen leading up to the discovery of his body.

Other sources told FOX 4 that Ross's condo was associated with high-risk activity.

The young couple led police on a high-speed chase in Ross's stolen car and were eventually arrested near LBJ Freeway on Monday.

At this time, cops do not believe the stolen car was the motive for the murder.

Neighbor Dillon Meadows called Ross a "really cool dude" and told FOX 4 he had been fishing with him before and that he used to grill and bring food to others in the area.
