Three Former Red Raiders Offered Pre-Trial Diversion in Burglary Case
Three former football players at Texas Tech caught a break in the courtroom Tuesday.
Robert Castaneda, Trace Ellison and Dakota Allen were all offered pre-trial diversion for a home burglary that occurred last winter in the 4300 block of 43rd St.
Essentially, this means the charges against them will be dropped and it will be like nothing happened as long as the trio stay out of trouble moving forward.
Should any of the three accused get in trouble again, prosecutors have the discretion to re-file charges.
Castaneda, Ellison and Allen were originally charged for burglary of a residence. The three former Texas Tech athletes allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of guns from a home. They were later released from the team.
