This is awesome.

Friday The 13th is making the rounds on the big screen for its 40th anniversary.  I checked and there will be showings at Cinemark Movies 16 courtesy of Fathom Events.  The movie has been restored and remastered for its return to theaters.

It looks like you have three days to catch it. October 4th, 6th, or 7th at 7:00 p.m. It looks like you'll get a little bonus Tom Savini documentary talking about the gore and effects used in the film.

I hate to sound like the opening scene of Scream, but you get little to no "Jason" in this film if you remember. None of that keeps it from being an epic chapter in movie horror. You have to remember at the time this was straight-up murder on film and some people were none to happy about it. The storyline is as thin as a piece of a thread, serving mostly to just serve up kill after kill.
