There's something really neat happening with the moon tonight, but you won't see it.

Tonight it's a "Full Thunder Moon", obviously named for some of that crazy July weather, but the real fun happens below the equator.  Folks in South America will be treated to a lunar eclipse. Still, that's not the biggest lunar event.

The big lunar event for the 15th/16th is the fact that Saturday South America will see the moon pass in front of Saturn.

Even cooler, CNN notes that all of this will happen on the anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission.

Here in Lubbock, we're just treated to a big, beautiful bright moon for the night, perfect for any outdoor activities you may have.
