Oh, how I love the South Plains Fair. Everything about it is wonderful. The incredible food smells, seeing the prize pies and pumpkins, petting baby animals, winning a stuffed animal, and of course, the thrilling rides. The fair will be held this year (2023) from September 22 through September 30, with a "preview night" on September 21.

If you and your friends/ family enjoy riding a lot of rides or want to ride on multiple days, it just makes sense to purchase a Megapass, which is on sale now at the South Plains Fair website or the fair's office at 1012 Ave. A. It'll also save you some time in line purchasing ride tickets.

The Mega Pass is a picture ID that allows you to get a wristband every day of the fair for unlimited rides. They will be $75 this year and will be available for purchase until Saturday, September 16th.

In addition to being a ton of fun, the South Plains Fair is one of the largest fundraising events for community services and outreach each year. Many churches, schools, and other nonprofit organizations make most of their yearly funds by selling the best food on the planet during the fair.

It is estimated that in excess of $750,000 goes directly into the community as a result of this unique opportunity.

Additionally, the South Plains Fair has donated hundreds of thousands to area college scholarships and 4H/ agricultural funds.

Wow! It's also incredible that this year marks the 105th South Plains Fair in Lubbock. That is a tremendous amount of history the fair and our town have together. It's a special relationship. Fall in Lubbock is synonymous with the South Plains Fair- most likely for another 105 years.
