Lubbock’s Halloween Costumes Reveal Surprising Trends This Year
What if we could predict the most popular costumes in Lubbock, this year? Well, we don't have to predict, we can use solid science.
Talk about a lucky rabbit hole to fall into! I started out wondering what the top Halloween costumes in Texas would be this year, but ended up finding something much more specific. Google has a tool called Frightgeist that reveals the most popular costume searches for any town or ZIP code. I pulled up the top five for Lubbock — and while most of them make perfect sense, the number one spot is definitely a bit of a head-scratcher.
5. The Lorax. I don't know why The Lorax is all of a sudden popular again, but it's true. This past Saturday night I saw a young lady in a Lorax costume, yellow mustache, pot belly, and all. It's a really fun and cool character that probably everyone recognizes. It appears most people piece the costume together by combining the below with a bodysuit.
4. Poison Ivy. I absolutely love this character from Batman. I don't know why this green goddess doesn't get more play across the board, but she's trending this year. I'm betting it's the adult version of this one that's selling!
3. Superman. It gives me faith that everything is going to work out when so many people want to dress as the big blue boy scout. Now, if they can only find a dog to go trick or treating with, everything would be perfect.
2. Mira From Kpop Demon Hunters. I know about this movie phenomenon. I had zero idea what she looked like until this came up in the results. Now, the reason the attached photo is smaller, is this is from the *Sold Out* results at Spirit Halloween Stores. In fact, all Kpop Demon Hunters costumes are sold out, so it's a thing!
1. Flight Attendant. Again, we're going to go ahead and assume that this is from the adult section of the Halloween store. First off, no flight attendants even dress close this anymore, and secondly, it has to be sexy because otherwise it would be really, really boring.
