Here’s A List Of Bands Who Have Played Lubbock Too Much
I find it hilarious when someone says, "Are they coming here AGAIN?"
Let's get this straight, the people who complain are trolls and haters and should be ignored. After all, no one forces you to go to any show or pay any attention. I kind of understand, but at the same time I don't try to yuck someone else's yum. I think the Masked Singer is about the dumbest concept to EVERY be on t.v. and everyone involved should be ashamed, but I don't pop over to the t.v. stations web page to let them know. I certainly don't drive past the lobster roll truck, honk my horn, and says, "Why do you guys keep coming back, you were just here!".
Once upon a time there was a metal band that played Lubbock over and over again in a short period of time. We heard any number of people say, "AGAIN?" and we still helped promote the shows in fun and interesting ways. Yes, Iron Maiden used to come here "Too Much". In more recent history we heard the same complaints about Pantera and Hellyeah. I sure would give anything to either of the brothers in Lubbock now. We also heard these complaints about Saliva, Jackyl, Nickelback, KoRn, Staind, KISS, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Five Finger Death Punch and others.
So who else do people like to complain about? People love to complain about Papa Roach, In This Moment, P.O.D, and Powerman 5000. Yet, these shows have huge fan bases and the keep selling tickets. Wouldn't you keep coming back to town if you kept making money? As a matter of fact, I told the promoter I thought it was "too soon" for I.T.M. to return to Lubbock. Fortunately he ignored me, because people are going crazy for that show. Bands are always building and/or playing to their fan base and that's how you build a successful career.
I hate to say it, but some of the haters are missing some of the most obvious points. First, you do not have to go. Second, it does not prevent your favorite band from coming to town. Lastly, Powerman 5000, just for instance, has been around since 1999, so how many visits over 25 YEARS is "too much"?
So to answer the question at the top of this post, on which bands have been here "too much", the answer is zero. As longs as they and their fans go away happy we're happy to let people know they're coming. Personally, I think you should be mad at the bands that played Lubbock a lot then got too big to come back.
