Central Lubbock Is Getting An Exciting New Sporting Goods Store

Central Lubbock has been experiencing a mini-retail Renaissance this year, with exciting new store openings.

Earlier this year, a second Five Below location opened at 2813 50th Street in the Caprock Shopping Center, creating a shopping destination with its proximity to Ross Dress for Less and Rainbow clothing.

Now, another exciting retailer is opening up nearby.

I believe that this newcomer will truly make central Lubbock a shopping destination, as Hibbett Sports is opening at 2721 50th Street. According to KLBK, the store will open soon:

Hibbett Sports carries a wide variety of shoes, clothing, accessories, and sporting goods- everything from soccer balls and cleats to sandals and athleisure wear. It appears to be a one-stop shop for individuals with an active lifestyle.

Hibbett also carries enviable and collectible sneakers like Jordans for you sneakerheads out there. Or Birkenstocks if comfort is king on your shoe rack.

Hibbett Sports began in 1945 and has steadily grown to over 1000 stores, focusing on excellent customer service and a "small store" format with plenty of individual attention, so you can find exactly what you want and need.

I think Lubbock will benefit from the Hibbett, as we are a community that loves sports-from Little League to our semi-pro soccer team to pickleball in the park.

Having a store in central Lubbock will serve that immediate community and will bring folks from other parts of town to enjoy other retail stores and the excellent restaurants in the area. And the store will create some great jobs, too.
