The Houston Texans announced on Tuesday morning that they have decided to part ways with wide receiver Demaryius Thomas.

The decision to cut the 31-year-old likely comes at the expense of Thomas being due a $14 million base salary this season, and the fact that the Texans have exciting, young wide receivers in Keke Coutee and Will Fuller V.

Thomas was acquired by the Texans from the Broncos before last year's trading deadline. He finished with 275 receiving yards and two touchdowns in seven games after the trade.
