Do you feel like you have to fake it while at work everyday? No one can be happy all the time, so should you feel like you have to be happy or in a good mood while you are at work?

According to a study, faking being happy while at work could actually lead to more bad feelings and lead you to feel "burnt out". Those who studied this claim that since no one is the same or arrives to work feeling great all the time, employees put more pressure on themselves to come across as happy and this impacts how they talk to co-workers and even get work done according to the New York Post.

“At work, that means you’re more likely to be short with co-workers or peruse the internet rather than do your work,” said Emma Frank, an assistant professor of management at the University of New Hampshire. “Even if you’re feeling good and ending your day on a high note, you’re not going to be ready to perform your best.”

This can eventually lead to the dreaded worker burnout, which is the catalyst for the quiet quitting trend sweeping corporate America.

“I think that a lot of times we might assume that ending the day on a high note would be a good thing, but what we found is that starting from that low point and getting to that high point depletes the resources you have left in the day,” Frank added.

On the flip side, if you are always angry at work, or someone who is not a pleasure to be around, the day may not go exactly the way you want and it could make your co-workers decide they don't want to be around you.

Personally, I think just be honest with people but don't take out what is happening at home on your co-workers and the same is true for being at home, don't bring home all the bad things from work and make those at home suffer.
