One of the coolest things about my job is getting to interview artists and ask them questions that most fans never have an opportunity to ask.

I get to help you guys feel like you know these people on a more personal level and get a peek inside their lives and the things that inspire them.

For the most part; on air, these guys share stories about things that happen while they were recording a new record or funny stories from the road while they are touring,

Then, there is the stuff that we talk about when the mic isn't on, the stuff that reminds me, these people who have the ability to heal and entertain us with their music are really the not all that different than you and me.

A few weeks ago, I told you guys about a new project HURT had in the works called "Besides & Footnotes."

On the bands Facebook page, J. Loren calls the music on this new record a "collection of rarities and hidden gems," and after listening to it I have to wholeheartedly agree.

Anyone who has seen these guys live will tell you a few things you don't normally hear about a band:

One, regardless of the size of the crowd, fans can expect the band to give everything they have on stage.

Two, J. Loren connects with the crowd whether it's crowd surfing (creeping, or even walking propelled and supported by fans below him) he pours his heart and soul out in every show.

And three, they are genuine and truly carry that connection with fans from the stage during the show to the floor afterwards where they can always be found posing for pictures, signing everything fans present them with, talking to the people who have given them the opportunity to touch their lives with the music they make.

This new release is more than a record, it is a look at what inspired the songs on the album and a personal look at the recording process of each of the songs from J.'s personal perspective told by him.

I've been in this business a long time and when I tell you this is something you will want in your collection believe me it is seriously a great record and the personal explanations behind the process is incredible!

I always look forward to J. and the rest of the boys in HURT paying us a visit here in the Hub City, partially because they are phenomenal and put on one heck of a show but also because we get to catch up with an old friend.

Get this record folks, you will love it!
