First Plainview Film Festival to Be Hosted by Wayland Baptist

West Texas has a great music scene, a fond love of arts and now one University is showcasing the creativity that comes with the cinema. Wayland Baptist University has announced that they would be hosting their first ever Student Film Festival in November. This film festival came to be with the help of Dean of the School of Languages and Literature  Dr. Kimberlee Mendoza and English Professor Dr. Erin Heath.

This event, which is actually the first of it's kind in the city of Plainview, is expected to be a great experience for both students and audiences in attendance. Dr. Heath does teach the Introduction to Film class at Wayland Baptist University while Dr. Mendoza teach Humanities, both classes cover the topic of films. As both professors teach these classes they took this as an opportunity to partner with the new LimeLite venue in Plainview to host the festival.

The Wayland Student Film Festival is set to kickoff on Tuesday, November 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the LimeLite entertainment venue, located at 1403-B West Fifth street in Plainview. This event is free to attend for everyone and there will be snacks offered at a reduce price during the festival.
