Everyone that lives in Texas knows that cowboys on cattle drives would sit around fires and tell stories about some of their wild times. Those stories of these bonding moments have been a staple when it comes to the idea of cowboys but now you have a chance to participate, minus the live cattle.

The Ranching Heritage Center will be hosting their Inaugural Ranch Verse event. This event will start off with a warm welcome from cowboy songster Andy Hedges as he and Andy Wilkinson, Randy Rieman, and Dave Stamey do some storytelling, cowboy poetry, and range ballads.

A few hours after the opening ceremony festivities, and lunch, the afternoon events will kick off with an interview of the RHA Working Cowboy Award recipient. That interview will be featured for the Cowboy Crossroads podcast with Andy Hedges featuring Boots O'Neal. Randy Rieman will then present letters written by Charles M. Russell's letters featuring slides, commentary and spoken words. A discussion of of arts from western culture will then end the days festivities.

These festivities are not just limited to the Ranching Heritage Center as Andy Hedges will be performing later that night with Dave Stamey and the legendary Red Steagall. This performance will be held at the Cactus  Theater in downtown Lubbock later that night but tickets are already sold out for that performance.

Ranch Verse will be on Saturday, August 5, and will start at 10:30 a.m. a list of what events will be going on throughout the day can be found on the Ranching Heritage website or social media. There will be a chuck wagon lunch available at Ranch Verse with plenty of tasty food for those that wish to stay at the Ranching Heritage Center and enjoy the day.
