The Executive Inn in Lubbock, Texas, is in the process of shutting down due to the amount of rising crime at the motel. According to reports, the owners claim the City of Lubbock wanted the hotel to shut down.

Executive Inn Closes After Shootings, Robberies, and Overdoses

According to a report from EverythingLubbock.com, management of the Executive Inn posted signs around the property announcing that they would be shutting their doors. The sign read, “We sincerely apologize that we have to voluntarily shut down our units. The recent overdoses, shootings, and robberies are the reason. The city wants this action immediately.”

The sign also warned tenants that they must be out of their units by 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Did The City Really Shutdown The Executive Inn?

While the owners are saying the City of Lubbock wanted this action, the Lubbock Police Department took to Facebook to clarify that neither the City nor the Police Department ever moved forward on a legal abatement process. But Lubbock Police did support the move to shut down the motel.

Will This End the Criminal Activity in The Area?

Sadly, another motel that offers long-term stays will probably be targeted by criminals in the future. That has been the trend in many cities.
