New Downtown Lubbock Police Headquarters Opens For Public Services
The Lubbock Police Department has opened its brand new Downtown Lubbock Headquarters. The new HQ opened on Monday, January 22nd and is located near Citizens Tower in Downtown Lubbock. The exact address is 1205 15th Street.
While the building isn't fully moved into just yet and an official Grand Opening will happen in the future, the new building is open for public services.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, the front desk will be open to the public 24 hours a day while the records division will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Since the new HQ is open for public services, the old LPD HQ at 916 Texas Avenue is no longer available.
Lubbock citizens don't have to drive Downtown for the public services. Division stations can provide the same services to citizens. Those can be found at the LPD North Division Station at 5910 Erskine, the LPD South Division Station at 14005 Indiana Ave, and the LPD East Station at 1901 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
The new police headquarters is part of a 2017 Public Safety Project. The City of Lubbock had allocated over $21 million for the building but earlier reports had the price of the building coming in at roughly $16.2 million dollars.
