Texas Ranked Among Top 4 States with Bad Travel Habits
I'm sure we've all been there. You pay for an overpriced ticket to sit at your gate for 2 hours only for one passenger who seemed to have conveniently forgotten their headphones during their phone calls... Well, it turns out that Texas is no stranger to bad traveling etiquette.
Bad Travel Behavior by State
According to a study by Solitaire Bliss, Texas ranks number four in states with the most naughty travel habits.
The number five rank went to Georgia. The number three spot was Virginia, while Illinois and Iowa took the number two and number one spots, respectively.
The study was conducted by asking Texans and non-Texans alike what behaviors they find aggravating that other passengers do. The participants were also asked what behaviors they themselves were guilty of that fall in the same list. The results are relatively surprising, to say the least.
The top naughty behaviors seen committed while flying in Texas, of which Gen Z are most likely to be guilty, include the following:
- Reclining a seat without asking the passenger behind them - 75.47%
- Loud audio on cell phone without headphones - 74.08%
- "Reserving" seats by placing luggage and bags next to them - 72.73%
- Leaving garbage on the seat and in the seat-back pockets - 71.68%
- Asking to switch seats with strangers - 66.08%
- Pushing on the seat in from of them - 63.64%
Flying barefoot (40.41%), bringing smelly food on the flight (41.21%), and drinking too much alcohol (45.95%) were also on the list.
The study also indicated that Americans in general associated Spirit Airlines with bad travel habits than any other airline.
