Texas Tech Makes Major Change To Carol Of Lights For 2023
We are months away from cooler weather, Christmas lights, and even the hint of snow. But that doesn't mean there aren't big announcements about that time of year coming out now. And today, Texas Tech made a huge announcement about the Carol of Lights ceremony.
This year will be the 65th annual Carol of Lights and it will also mark the end of Texas Tech's Centennial Celebration. On Tuesday, Texas Tech announced a big change to Carol of Lights that everyone should applaud. Instead of having Carol of Lights on a Thursday, they have decided to move one of the most loved traditions to Saturday.
So put it on your calendars, Saturday, December 3 is Carol of Lights and it's going to be a huge event. In fact, the reason why they moved the ceremony to Saturday was so that more people would have a chance to attend whether they live in Lubbock or outside the Hub City.
No announcement yet on the entertainment for this year's event or if Carol of Lights will go back to the traditional format we have known and loved. If I had to guess though, Texas Tech will take one more opportunity to throw a big party.
I'm just glad they are moving it to Saturday. Great decision by Texas Tech!
