The JET program prepares students for high-demand occupations by supporting independent school districts in partnership with state or technical colleges across Texas.

JET Grants Awarded to West Texas

There were a total of four JET grants awarded to four separate independent school districts (ISD) in West Texas:

The grants awarded to Culberson County and Denver City school districts are for training students studying to be nurses, while Iraan-Sheffield is dedicated to train welders in partnership with Odessa College.

The $340,000 awarded to Seagraves ISD will help train 100 students as industrial engineering technicians. How impressive is that!

Governor Abbott's Message to Young Academics
