I almost always plan any vacation or road trip I go on around attending a rock show. If the trip wasn't already related to seeing a show, I see what's happening around that time and pick up a show whenever possible. Since none of that happened last year, I'm itching to hit the road.

Already booked for me is Rammstein this September at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. But I want to see if anything was worth spending some vacay days on in June.

Here's my short list, as it may be helpful for you on your rock-seeking journeys. Some of these will have multiple dates in Texas, so if you're interested in a band, double-check to see if there's a town you'd rather travel to. New Mexico is always an option, too!

  • June 3rd, 2021: Rage Against the Machine in El Paso, Texas
  • June 9th, 2021: Primus, Wolfmother, The Sword in Houston, Texas
  • June 17th, 2021: Ween in Houston, Texas
  • June 18th, 2021: Mountain Goats in Dallas, Texas
  • June 23rd, 2021: Slipknot in Austin, Texas

Also on tour, but I've already seen them is: Buckcherry, ZZ Top, Reel Big Fish

On tour, but a hard pass for me: Jimmy Buffet

On tour, not rock, but kinda tempted: Backstreet Boys (Shut up.)

This may look a little skimpy, but keep in mind this is the first waves of what will build into an absolute tsunami as more and more states and venues open up with fewer and fewer restrictions. Some bands took the downtime to create new albums, new albums they will certainly what to tour. Some bands from overseas are waiting so navigating to get over here is less of a hassle.

If you have a band you love, be sure to follow their socials and sign up for the mailing lists. There are certain artists I would see every year or even more frequently, given the option, so I low-key stalk them. I'm looking at you Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
