Justice? Texas Pastor Who Sex Abused Little Girl Receives No Prison Time
A Texas pastor will stay out of prison despite sexually abusing his young family member for seven years. She was only nine when the abuse began.
According to his indictment, Robinson sexually abused an underage family member between July 11, 2015 and June 27, 2022.
William C. Robinson pleaded guilty to five counts of child sex abuse. For these crimes, he accepted a plea deal that gave him a sentence of 10 years deferred adjudication.
This means that if Robinson doesn't violate his probation, he'll be able to have the charge removed from his record.
The terms of his probation are that he serve 120 hours of community service, take a parenting class, stay away from his victim, have his internet access monitored, and abide by a curfew of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Robinson had been employed as a pastor for Chi Alpha, a campus ministry that provides services on the Texas A&M Corpus Christi campus.
If the sentence seems light to you, you're not alone. I'm disgusted that he was able to abuse this child for so long, and beginning at such a young age. She will have to live with what he did to her for the rest of her life- while he will only have to keep his head down for ten years. It seems very unfair.
This isn't the only controversy Chi Alpha Ministries has faced recently. According to Christianity Today, the organization is being sued by a student's father because "the leaders he entrusted to disciple his teenage son instead got him naked in ministry settings and used their positions of authority to sexually abuse him."
